System overview
The FOM SD 300 coats widths from 10 mm to 300 mm and fits the FOM alphaSC sheet coater and the omicronR2R, omegaR2R, compact moduloR2R and moduloR2R roll-to-roll lines.
The shim sets the coating width and the stripe pattern, and the meniscus guide stabilizes the bead. The head also has a pressure measurement port and an air ventilation port.

Frequently asked questions
What coating width does the FOM SD 300 support?
The FOM SD 300 coats widths from 10 mm to 300 mm. The width is set by the shim, so one head covers the full range.
Which FOM machines is the FOM SD 300 compatible with?
The FOM SD 300 fits the FOM alphaSC, omicronR2R, omegaR2R, compact moduloR2R and moduloR2R.
What viscosities can the FOM SD 300 handle?
The head is rated from 1 cP to more than 100,000 cP at 25 °C. The practical upper limit also depends on the pump and fluid delivery system of the machine.
What is the FOM SD 300 made of?
The head is machined from stainless steel and chemically passivated. Shims and meniscus guides are cut from stainless steel. For chemistries that attack stainless steel, the PEEK series is available in widths up to 200 mm.
Can the FOM SD 300 be heated?
Yes. Slot-die head heating to 80 °C is available as an option.
Can the FOM SD 300 coat stripes?
Yes. Patterned shims produce stripes and discrete coating areas. Standard, custom and bespoke patterns are available.
