The project will promote the development of PEM fuel cells for the PtX (Power to X) industry, including the development of software and hardware for quality control of roll-to-roll produced fuel cells.

FOM Technologies can add another research and innovation project to the company’s R/D pipeline. The project is financed by the Innovation Fund on the basis of an approved Missionbooster application with the title: “In-line characterization system to improve the quality and reproducibility of slot-die coated polymer electrolyte membranes.”

The project will promote the development of a characterization method of PEM fuel cells for the PtX industry, including the development of software and hardware for quality control of roll-to-roll produced fuel cells. The partners in the consortium, which is led by FOM Technologies A/S, are DTU Energy and DFM (Denmark’s National Metrology Institute). The project runs over 2 years and, in line with the Innovation Foundation’s guidelines, all developed IP belongs to FOM Technologies.

Michael Stadi, CEO at FOM Technologies, states: “At FOM, we are proud to be selected again as a consortium participant for national and international research within the cleantech technologies of the future. This research wants to create a new development in the Danish PtX venture, where is demand from the US in particular for scaling up and industrialization of fuel cell technology from Europe. We are now starting to roll up our sleeves, with a focus on developing something commercial.”

This investor news does not change the financial guidance for 2023 for revenue and EBITDA.
